Tufte Performance and Production Center

Boston, Massachusetts
Client: Emerson College

Project Description

  • This urban infill project leveraged a 7,000-sf footprint without street frontage or direct pedestrian access into a 11-story, 80,000-sf state-of-the-art academic building.
  • The center houses live performance, broadcast, and video production facilities, faculty offices, and teaching spaces with academic adjacencies that inspire creative cross-disciplinary exposure and collaboration.
  • With the center’s main façade along an alley, a LED-lit curtainwall creates a beckoning 21st-century theater marquee that makes the building’s presence known on the street.
