HR Business Partner, Talent and Culture

Elkus Manfredi Architects is a full-service design firm providing architecture, master planning, urban design, interior architecture, space planning, and programming. The Talent Partner reports to the Vice President of Talent and Culture and works in partnership with Elkus Manfredi Architects principals, senior leadership, key stakeholders, and HR colleagues to develop and deliver talent and culture initiatives, services, and strategies in line with the needs and priorities of the organization. In collaboration with Vice President of Talent and Culture, designs, develops, and implements HR initiatives, programs, and policies.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development and execution of recruitment practices and programs that enable the attraction and hiring of top talent including:

Use best practice recruitment strategies/technology to attract strong, diverse talent to Elkus Manfredi.

Establish a strategic talent acquisition plan in partnership with hiring leaders and Client Projects Staffing Manager to effectively source and deliver talent necessary to achieve business outcomes.

Take lead role in managing Summer Internship Program.

Develop workforce development strategies and a suitable talent pipeline to drive business results. Includes outreach to schools and community groups.

Establish talent acquisition metrics, providing analysis of results with a goal of moving performance to best-practice levels and operational excellence.

Develop recommended practices and policies for hiring managers.

Develop and implement new employee onboarding and training programs.

  • Partners with management to provide ongoing HR support and guidance as needed.
  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues.
  • Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Assists with immigration-related employment.
  • Identifies training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs.
  • Participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met.
  • Conducts confidential exit interviews with departing employees.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Education, Training and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as HR Business partner, HR Generalist, or similar role with at least three (3) years of experience in full-cycle recruiting.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including talent acquisition, compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.

Additional Education, Training and Experience

  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI) SPHR or PHR credential.

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Additional Competencies

  • Working knowledge of Deltek software (a plus).

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
